Judge Moreland was elected by the Metro Council to General Sessions Court Division IX in 1995 to complete the term of the late Donald Washburn. He was re-elected in 1998 to General Sessions Judge Division X. Judge Moreland is the first Judge to be elected to Division X. Before becoming Judge, Judge Moreland practiced law from 1985-1995.
Judge Moreland is a native Nashvillian and graduate from Goodpasture High School in 1975. He received his BS degree from the University of Tennessee (Martin) in 1980. In 1984 he received his Law Degree from the Nashville School of Law.
He is married to Jackie Moreland and they have two children.
Judge Moreland is a member of the Nashville Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, Tennessee General Sessions Judges Conference, Lawyers Association for Women and the American Bar Association.
